Hi, I’m Kortney.
My two loves: dogs and design.
I started Wag Dog Walking in 2008 and it was the best job I ever had. Those happy dogs greeting me for each appointment were the best clients. After several years, design started calling my name so I begin taking night classes in Interior Design. To finish my degree, I closed the business in 2017, but continued volunteering at Seattle Humane and Seattle Animal Shelter to get my dog fix.
It was interesting graduating in March of 2020 when Covid shut everything down, but I found full time work at a great residential design and build firm the following year. After a year of working with some great people and learning so much, I realized I wasn’t happy and fulfilled the way I am when I’m around animals.
So now I’m back in the dog walking biz! In addition to nine years running my business, I have kept up with dog behavior and training through volunteering and workshops. I have completed certificates in Inter-Dog Play, Inter-Canine Communications, Enrichment, and the Fear Free Shelter program. I have experience with all kinds of behavior like shy, fearful, jumpy and/or mouthy, and reactive dogs, and will model gentle control with positive reinforcement.
